HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, has held a phone call with Prime Minister of Egypt,آ Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.
At the outset of the call, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his condolences to HE the Egyptian Prime Minister on the passing of the latter’s father, Major General Kamal Madbouly.
The call also reviewed bilateral cooperation and ways to strengthen it, in addition to discussing regional developments, particularly those related to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, and efforts aimed at de-escalation to support security and stability in the region.

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held a telephone conversation with HE Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud.

The two sides touched on bilateral relations and ways to support and strengthen them. They also discussed developments in the region, particularly those related to the ceasefire between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and efforts aimed at de-escalation to enhance security and stability in the region.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the need for all parties to engage with the ongoing mediation efforts, in a fashion that paves the way for addressing the root causes of the crisis via dialogue and peaceful means, through to reaching a sustainable agreement that prevents re-ignition of the crisis.

Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, met in Doha on Sunday with Head of the British Office for Sudan and UK Special Representative to Sudan, Richard Crowder.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation and ways to enhance it, in addition to discussing the latest regional and international developments, particularly in Sudan, as well as several issues of mutual interest.

The State of Qatar voices its condemnation and denunciation of the attacks that targeted several military and civilian areas in the Republic of Mali, including the capital Bamako, and resulted in multiple deaths and injuries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates the State of Qatar’s firm stance against violence, terrorism, and criminal acts, regardless of the motives or reasons.

The Ministry expresses the State of Qatar’s condolences to the families of the victims and to the government and people of the Republic of Mali, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

During the meeting, they discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them. They also discussed the developments in the region, particularly those related to the ceasefire between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to efforts aimed at reducing escalation in a way that contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region.

The State of Qatar condemns, in the strongest terms, the targeting of two northern land border posts in the sisterly State of Kuwait by drones launched from the sisterly Republic of Iraq, describing it as a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and a serious threat to regional security and stability.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses the need for Iraq to assume its responsibilities to prevent the recurrence of such attacks.

The Ministry reaffirms Qatar’s full solidarity with Kuwait and its support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty and security.

The text of the following statement was released by the Governments of the State of Qatar, the United States of America, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of Rwanda, the Republic of Togo (as the African Union mediator), and the African Union Commission on the occasion of the fifth Joint Oversight Committee held this week in Washington, D.C.

On April 23, 2026, representatives from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Republic of Rwanda, along with the State of Qatar, the United States of America, the Republic of Togo (as the African Union mediator), and the African Union Commission convened to assess implementation of the Peace Agreement, signed on June 27, 2025, in Washington, D.C., during the fifth meeting of the Joint Oversight Committee (Committee).

The Committee reviewed the progress achieved following the March 17-18, 2026, meetings in Washington, D.C. Both Parties presented updates on the implementation of their efforts to de-escalate tensions and advance progress on the ground.

The State of Qatar provided an update on the ongoing negotiations between the DRC and AFC/M23. The Committee expressed strong support for these efforts, thanking Switzerland for hosting the latest round of Doha talks, and emphasized the critical role of the Doha process in advancing the broader implementation of the Peace Agreement.

The Parties expressed a shared commitment to maintaining momentum in the peace process and continuing to build on the progress achieved. The Governments of the DRC and Rwanda expressed their gratitude to the United States, Qatar, the African Union Commission, and Togo for their steadfast support in advancing peace and stability in eastern DRC and the broader Great Lakes region.
