HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad received Thursday a phone call from HE Minister Delegate to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, responsible for Francophonie, International Partnerships, and French Citizens Abroad of the French Republic, Eleonore Caroit.

During the call, they discussed the developments of the military escalation in the region and its serious repercussions on security and stability regionally and internationally, and ways to resolve all disputes through peaceful means.

HE the Minister of State for International Cooperation affirmed during the call that the Iranian attack on Qatari territory constitutes a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and is inconsistent with the principles of good neighborliness, and cannot be accepted under any justification or pretext.

She noted in this context that the State of Qatar has always been keen to distance itself from regional conflicts and has sought to facilitate dialogue between the Iranian side and the international community. However, she added that the renewed targeting of its territory does not reflect good faith and jeopardizes the foundations of the understandings upon which bilateral relations between the two countries are based.

Her Excellency also stressed the need for an immediate halt to any escalatory actions, a return to the table of dialogue, prioritizing the language of reason and wisdom, and working to contain the crisis in a way that preserves the security of the region.

For her part, HE the Minister Delegate to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic expressed her country’s condemnation of the Iranian attack on Qatari territory, considering it a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and airspace of the State of Qatar and of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, affirming in this regard France’s solidarity with Qatar.

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received a phone call on Thursday from HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popsoi.

The two officials discussed the recent military escalation in the region and its serious implications for regional and international security, as well as ways to resolve disputes through peaceful means.
During the call, HE Sheikh Mohammed described the Iranian attack on Qatari territory as a blatant violation of the State of Qatar’s sovereignty. He stressed that such actions are incompatible with the principles of good neighborliness and cannot be justified under any pretext.

He added that Qatar has consistently sought to remain outside regional conflicts and facilitate dialogue between Iran and the international community, but repeated attacks on its territory undermine the foundations of bilateral relations.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also called for an immediate end to escalatory actions, a return to dialogue, and the prioritization of reason and diplomacy to contain the crisis and safeguard regional security.

HE Popsoi said Moldova was closely following developments in the region and urged all parties to exercise restraint and return to diplomatic negotiations to avoid further instability. 

Qatar Condemns Iranian Attacks Targeting Turkiye and Azerbaijan

The State of Qatar strongly condemns attempts to target the Republic of Turkiye with a ballistic missile and an airport in the Republic of Azerbaijan using Iranian drones.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs describes the incidents as a “dangerous escalation” and a “blatant violation of state sovereignty”, warning that they threaten regional security and stability.

The ministry says the attacks were part of a series of “reckless” actions by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

It adds that Iran’s continued opening of new fronts and expansion of tensions with neighboring countries represents a serious risk to the stability of the region.

Qatar calls on Iran to immediately stop “irresponsible policies that undermine regional security”, advising it to prioritize the interests of the region’s people and adhere to the principles of good neighborliness and international law.

The State of Qatar reaffirms its full solidarity with Turkiye and Azerbaijan, and its support for measures taken by both countries to safeguard their sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

Qatar Affirms Peacebuilding, Its Preservation as Top Foreign Policy Priority

The State of Qatar affirmed that peacebuilding and its preservation represent a top priority for the country and an integral part of its foreign policy, which aims to prevent conflicts and resolve them through peaceful means, by hosting negotiations and facilitating constructive dialogue and mediation to achieve lasting peace.

This came in a statement delivered by Third Secretary in the Human Resources Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hamad Abdullah Al Obaidli, during the panel discussion on human rights and the culture of peace, Item 3, within the framework of the sixty-first session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Al Obaidli explained that maintaining the sustainability of peace requires, first and foremost, adherence to the rules of international law governing peaceful relations between states, and refraining from the use of force, or the threat of its use, against other states in a manner that contradicts the principles and purposes of the United Nations.

He indicated that the State of Qatar, in the context of the conflicts it has worked to resolve, has focused on implementing development programs that enhance the sustainability of peace, adding that it has also carried out specific projects to provide education to millions of children deprived of it due to conflicts.

He pointed out that the State of Qatar has contributed to strengthening international efforts aimed at combating violent extremism through supporting the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF), which works to promote a culture of peace by focusing on projects that address poverty reduction, education, and youth employment, in order to rebuild resilience within communities.

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi received a telephone call Wednesday from HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Oana Toiu.

The call discussed the developments in military escalation and their menacing consequences on regional and global security and stability, as well as ways to resolve all disputes through peaceful means.

HE Al Muraikhi stressed that the Iranian assault on Qatari territory amounts to a gross violation of its national sovereignty, runs contrary to the principles of good neighborliness, and can never be accepted under any justification or pretext.

The State of Qatar has always been committed to refraining from regional conflicts and has sought to facilitate dialogue between the Iranian side and the international community. However, the renewal of targeting its territory doesn’t indicate good faith and imperils the groundwork for understandings that overtly underpin the bilateral relationship between the two nations, he underlined.

Al Muraikhi further stressed the importance of the immediate cessation of any escalatory acts, returning to the negotiating table, and giving the language of reason and judiciousness overriding priority, as well as working to contain the crisis to protect the region’s security.

For her part, HE Toiu emphasized that Romania condemns the Iranian attack on Qatari territory as a flagrant violation of the State of Qatar’s sovereignty, airspace, international law, and the UN Charter.

Qatar Sends Third Identical Letter to UN and Security Council Over Iranian Attacks

The State of Qatar has dispatched a third identical communication to HE Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) Antonio Guterres and HE Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the UN and President of the UN Security Council (UNSC) for the month of March Michael Waltz, regarding developments in the Iranian assault on its territory, which constitutes a flagrant violation of its national sovereignty and a direct compromise of its security and territorial integrity, as well as a rejected escalation that imperils the region’s security and stability.

The letter was sent by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the UN Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani.

The document recalled the ongoing attacks targeting Qatari territory, noting that the Ministry of Defense in the State of Qatar announced on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, that, to date, a total of three cruise missiles, 101 ballistic missiles, 39 drones, and two SU24 combat jets were monitored, and that, to date, a total of three cruise missiles, 98 ballistic missiles, 24 drones, and two SU24 combat jets have been successfully intercepted.

The Ministry stressed in the letter that the Qatar Armed Forces possess full capabilities and potential to protect the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to resolutely deter any external threat.

In addition, the message highlighted that all damages and losses resulting from the attacks will be compiled by the relevant authorities, and updates will be provided as the situation develops. It added that the State of Qatar once again strongly condemns this targeting and reserves the full right to respond in accordance with Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, proportionate to the nature of the assault, in defense of its sovereignty and to protect its national security and interests.

The State of Qatar called for circulating this communication as an official Security Council document.

HE Minister of State for International Cooperation confirmed, during the call, that the Iranian assault on Qatari territory is a flagrant violation of its national sovereignty and runs contrary to the principle of good neighborliness and can never be accepted under any justification or pretext.
