Round of Political Consultations between Qatar, Georgia

The 4th round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the State of Qatar and Georgia was held on Friday in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi.

The Qatari side was headed by HE Secretary General of the Ministry of foreign affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, while the Georgian side was headed by HE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Khvtisiashvili.

During the round of consultations, they discussed the cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them.

The round of consultations was attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Georgia Ali bin Yousef Al Mulla, HE Director of the European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Fahad bin Mohammed Kafoud, and the accompanying delegation.

Advisor to Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs Meets OAS Secretary-General

Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari met in Panama City with HE Secretary-General of the Organization of American States (OAS) Albert Ramdin.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Organization of American States, in addition to a number of regional issues, with particular focus on developments in Latin America.

Lebanese Army Receives First Tranche of Qatari Grant to Support Military Institution

The Lebanese Army Thursday received 37 vehicles provided by the State of Qatar through the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), representing the first tranche of an overall grant comprising 162 vehicles designated to support the Lebanese military institution.

During the ceremony marking the delivery of the first tranche, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the sisterly Lebanese Republic Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, affirmed that this grant comes under the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, in support of the Lebanese Army, which constitutes the main pillar of Lebanon’s security and stability.

He noted that the initiative aims to enhance the army’s capabilities and enable it to carry out its national duties across all Lebanese territory, reflecting the State of Qatar’s steadfast commitment to standing alongside brotherly Lebanon and its constant keenness on its sovereignty and prosperity.

His Excellency stressed that the State of Qatar takes pride in being at the forefront of countries supporting the Lebanese Army, stemming from its belief in the army’s pivotal role in safeguarding security and stability.

For his part, Brigadier General Amin Al Qaai, representative of the Commander of the Lebanese Army, expressed the Lebanese military institution’s gratitude to the State of Qatar for its continued support.

The handover ceremony was attended by HE Ambassador of the United States of America to Lebanon Michel Issa; the British military attache Lieutenant Colonel Charles Smith, representing the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Lebanon; and several Qatari liaison officers.

Minister of State for International Cooperation Meets Secretary-General of International Civil Defense Organization

HE Minister of State for International Cooperation, Dr. Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, met on Thursday with HE Secretary-General of the International Civil Defense Organization, Arguj Kalantarli, who is visiting the country.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed the ongoing cooperation between the State of Qatar and the International Civil Defense Organization, ways to enhance it, and the development of rapid response mechanisms for natural disasters and humanitarian crises worldwide.

HE Minister reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to continuing its humanitarian and relief role on the international stage, prioritizing humanitarian situations, and emphasizing the importance of partnerships with specialized international organizations to ensure civilian protection and mitigate the impact of natural disasters.

Minister of State for International Cooperation Meets with UN Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan

HE Minister of State for International Cooperation, Dr. Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, met on Thursday with HE Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan and Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs, Nderika Ratwathe, who is currently visiting the country.

During the meeting, they reviewed the cooperation between the State of Qatar and the United Nations and discussed ways to support and strengthen it, particularly in humanitarian and development fields in Afghanistan.

HE Minister of State for International Cooperation affirmed that Doha would remain a platform for dialogue and a logistical, political, and humanitarian partner for the United Nations to facilitate its missions in Afghanistan.

She also reiterated Qatar’s firm stance in support of the brotherly Afghan people, stressing the significance of continued international efforts to provide urgent humanitarian aid and support the health, education, and economic empowerment sectors in Afghanistan.

Qatar Affirms Continued Efforts With International Partners to Consolidate Security, Stability in Region

The State of Qatar affirmed its continued efforts with international partners to consolidate security and stability in the region, as well as to continue supporting the brotherly Palestinian people until they obtain all their legitimate rights, foremost among them their right to self-determination, ending the occupation, halting the settlement activities, and establishing their fully sovereign and viable independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem (Al-Quds) as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution principle.
This came in the State of Qatar’s statement delivered by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, during the Security Council’s quarterly open debate on ‘The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question,’ held at the UN headquarters in New York.
Her Excellency pointed out the announcement of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, expressing the State of Qatar’s hope that this will contribute to consolidating the truce and addressing the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Alongside eight Arab and Islamic countries that participated in the multilateral summit with US President Donald Trump, Qatar announced its accession to the Peace Council, affirming its support for the implementation of the council’s mission as a transitional body, as stated in the comprehensive plan adopted by Security Council Resolution 2803, with the aim of establishing a permanent ceasefire, reconstruction, and advancing towards a just and lasting peace based on the right of the brotherly Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their state in accordance with international law, Her Excellency said.
She also noted that the State of Qatar welcomed the coordination with mediators; the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Turkiye, in forming the Palestinian technocratic committee to administer the Gaza Strip, expressing hope that this would pave the way for the implementation of the second phase of the agreement.
HE Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the UN emphasized that, through its representative on the Gaza Executive Board, the State of Qatar would continue to contribute to efforts aimed at establishing effective governance and promoting peace and stability in the Gaza Strip.
She also stressed the importance of implementing Security Council Resolution 2803 to ensure a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire, the delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid without restrictions or impediments, the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and the prevention of the displacement of the Palestinian people.
Her Excellency pointed out the urgent need to immediately expand early recovery efforts, lift restrictions on the entry and distribution of essential supplies, rehabilitate infrastructure and hospitals, and open the Rafah crossing in both directions, as stipulated in the comprehensive plan.
There is no alternative to the effective implementation of the agreement, HE Sheikha Alya said, expressing the State of Qatar’s condemnation of the Israeli occupation’s attacks on the Gaza Strip, considering them a dangerous escalation. She further stressed the need for concerted regional and international efforts to preserve the agreement and ensure adherence to it.
HE Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the UN reiterated Qatar’s support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and its condemnation of the Israeli bombing and incursions that violate Syrian sovereignty and international law and undermine efforts to establish peace in the region.
HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani affirmed the State of Qatar’s position supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Lebanese Republic, condemning the Israeli raid on Ain Al Hilwehآ Palestinian refugee camp, considering it an attack on the defenseless Palestinian people, a violation of Lebanese sovereignty, and a breach of international law.

Qatar Participates in Eighth Meeting of Global Alliance for Implementation of Two State Solution

The State of Qatar participated in the eighth meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of theآ Two State Solution, held in Dublin, Ireland.
In the meeting, the State of Qatar was represented by HE Director of Arab Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nayef  bin Abdullah Al Emadi.
During the meeting, international efforts to support the implementation of the two-state solution were discussed, in addition to Ireland’s experience in the peace process and ways to translate the commitments in the New York Declaration into tangible actions.

Minister of State at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Meets Korean National Security Adviser

HH the Amir Sends Written Message to Korean President

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has sent a written message to HE President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae Myung, pertaining to bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them.

The message was handed over by HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, during his meeting today in Seoul with HE the Korean President.

At the beginning of the meeting, HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s greetings and wishes of good health and happiness to HE the Korean President, and for the government and people of Korea, enduring progress and prosperity.

For his part, HE the Korean President entrusted HE the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with his greetings to HH the Amir, wishing His Highness enduring success and the State of Qatar further progress and prosperity.

During the meeting, both sides discussed advancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as a range of matters of mutual interest.

Minister of State at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Meets Korean Foreign Minister

HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi met in Seoul on Wednesday with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Cho Hyun.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations and ways to advance them and addressed a number of regional and international issues of common concern, particularly developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, Syria, East Asia, and the latest regional security developments.

During the meeting, the Korean Foreign Minister commended the constructive role played by the State of Qatar in mediation, conflict resolution, and bringing peace to the region, while praising its ongoing efforts to support dialogue and promote regional and international stability.
