HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met on Monday with HE Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Koishybayev during his visit to the country to participate in the Second World Summit for Social Development, hosted by the State of Qatar from November 4 to 6.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to support and strengthen them, along with discussing topics of common interest.

HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad emphasized the urgent need for innovative social protection solutions, particularly those targeting vulnerable groups requiring special care during conflicts.

In her remarks during the “Innovative Social Protection Systems” session at the Doha Solutions Forum for Social Development, held Monday as part of the Second World Summit for Social Development hosted by Qatar from November 4 to 6, Her Excellency said that Qatar has shifted from traditional to innovative solutions in addressing the escalating armed conflicts and disputes on the international stage. She noted the country’s commitment to assisting groups such as women, people with disabilities, and children.

Her Excellency stated that these solutions cannot be implemented by a single partner without strategic partnerships, highlighting Qatar’s heavy reliance on such partnerships with other stakeholders, including governments and the private sector.

She also explained that Qatar has adopted smart digital solutions through financial transfers via UN partners such as the World Food Programme (WFP) and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, as well as many other partners.

Her Excellency added that Qatar has relied on the creative economy, which allows communities to invest in this field and achieve self-sufficiency and independence. Many of these methods have proven their effectiveness in providing aid, such as those related to Gaza, which is considered one of the most challenging areas, as well as Sudan and Yemen.
Her Excellency stated that Qatar strives to invest in human capital, both nationally and internationally, noting its long-standing efforts to empower women and people with disabilities and develop solutions tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. She added that Qatar always offers a unique solution to every challenge.

Her Excellency also stressed that international cooperation and the integration of efforts between partner countries and organizations represent a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development.

She noted that the State of Qatar’s experience embodies an inspiring model in combining innovation and humanity, through development initiatives that adopt modern technology and artificial intelligence to improve the quality of services and expand opportunities for community participation, thereby consolidating the human-based development approach and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The State of Qatar took part in the High level Ministerial Meeting on Developments in Palestine, held Monday in Istanbul, Turkiye.
HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi represented the State of Qatar at the meeting.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends the condolences of the State of Qatar to the families of the victims, the caretaker government, and the people of Afghanistan, while wishing a swift recovery for the injured.

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met Monday with HE Prime Minister of the sisterly Republic of Yemen, Salem Saleh bin Braik, who is visiting Qatar to participate in the World Summit for Social Development, slated for Nov. 4-6 in Doha.
The meeting dealt with the two countries’ cooperation relations and ways to bolster them; the latest developments in Yemen; and host of topics of mutual interest.
During the meeting, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed the State of Qatar’s unwavering support for Yemen and its continued assistance to its brotherly people until they achieve their aspirations for security, stability, and development.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and explored ways to strengthen cooperation between the two nations.

They also addressed a range of issues of shared interest.

The meeting discussed the close strategic relations between the State of Qatar and the United States of America and ways to support and strengthen them, primarily in the areas of military and defense cooperation. The two sides also discussed a host of topics of common interest.

A flag-raising ceremony for the State of Qatar and the United Nations was held on Sunday morning at the Qatar National Convention Centre to mark the opening of the Second World Summit for Social Development, hosted in Doha from November 4 to 6. The summit features high-level participation from heads of state and government, as well as representatives of international and regional organizations.
The ceremony was attended by HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi; HE UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Li Junhua; senior Qatari officials; and representatives of the United Nations.
In his remarks, HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s pride in hosting this major international event, held 30 years after the first social summit in Copenhagen. He affirmed that Qatar’s hosting of the summit reflects its firm commitment to inclusive and sustainable social development and to multilateral cooperation in pursuit of social justice and well-being for all peoples. He added that the summit offers a pivotal opportunity to advance global dialogue on social development and accelerate implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
His Excellency also praised the strategic partnership between Qatar and the United Nations, highlighted by the opening of the UN House in Doha, which underscores Qatar’s role as a trusted partner in supporting joint efforts with the international organization.
The occasion featured a parachute display organized by Education Above All Foundation, in collaboration with the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and the Qatar Air Sports Committee of the Joint Special Forces, with parachutists soaring over Doha bearing banners of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The ceremony concluded with the raising of the flags of Qatar and the United Nations by Lekhwiya and UN security personnel, accompanied by celebratory music performed by the Lekhwiya band, a symbolic scene reflecting the depth of the partnership between Qatar and the United Nations and their shared commitment to advancing inclusive and sustainable social development.
