Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Holds Phone Call with Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, UAE National Security Adviser

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held a phone conversation with HH Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The call discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them. It also discussed regional developments, particularly the diplomatic efforts to enhance security and stability in the region, following the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the State of Qatar’s full support for the ongoing negotiations between the American and Iranian sides to reach sustainable solutions to outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means, in a way that enhances regional security, contributes to opening new horizons for cooperation, development and prosperity, and achieves the common interests of the peoples of the region and the world.

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and senior United States officials have held a joint telephone call with HE President of the Lebanese Republic Joseph Aoun to discuss efforts to reinforce the ceasefire in Lebanon and support wider regional stability.

The conversation took place on the sidelines of the Lake Lucerne Summit and involved HE Vice President of the United States of America J.D. Vance; HE Senior Advisor to the US President Jared Kushner; and HE US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.

The discussions focused on ongoing political and diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening adherence to the ceasefire in Lebanon, building on the momentum generated by the memorandum of understanding recently signed between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Participants also explored ways to leverage the renewed diplomatic engagement to advance broader regional security and stability initiatives.

During the call, HE Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the State of Qatar’s support for regional and international efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East. He also reiterated Doha’s longstanding commitment to Lebanon’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

For his part, HE President Aoun expressed appreciation for the State of Qatar’s diplomatic initiatives and mediation efforts, praising Doha’s role in promoting dialogue and supporting security and stability across the region.

The State of Qatar has played an increasingly active role in regional diplomacy in recent years, often acting as a mediator in conflicts and political disputes. The latest discussions underline the country’s continuing engagement in efforts to reduce tensions and encourage political solutions to regional challenges.

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi held talks on Monday with HE Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the Government of National Unity of the State of Libya, Taher Salem Al Baour.

The discussions took place on the margins of the Arab foreign ministers’ consultative meeting, which was held in the Jordanian capital Amman.

The two officials discussed existing cooperation between the two nations and explored ways to further enhance ties across various fields.

 They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi met on Monday with HE State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ali Mohamed Omar, on the sidelines of the Consultative Meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers, held in Amman, Jordan.

During the meeting, they discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, in addition to several topics of mutual interest.

Joint Statement by the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Regarding The Conclusion of Lake Lucerne Summit, First High-Level Committee Meeting with Participation of the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran

The first session of high level talks under the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding have concluded in Burgenstock, Switzerland, with the participation of representatives from the Islamic Republic of Iran, the United States of America, and the two mediating parties, the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. 

The Lake Lucerne Summit was conducted in a positive and constructive atmosphere. Encouraging progress has been made including the creation of a mechanism for further technical talks. 

Building on the MoU, the parties have agreed to the establishment of a High Level Committee, which will provide political oversight on the mediation. Chief negotiators will report regularly to the High Level Committee and lead working groups focused on nuclear, sanctions, and a monitoring and dispute resolution group to ensure the effective implementation of the MoU, and on other matters. 

The High Level Committee has agreed upon a roadmap towards reaching a final deal within 60 days, laying the foundation for the immediate commencement of further technical talks. In addition, a communication line between the parties has been formed for the period mentioned in paragraph 5 of the MoU to avoid incidents and miscommunication with the aim of safe passage for commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. 

Moreover, the parties agreed on the creation of a de-confliction cell, between the parties, the Lebanese Republic and facilitated by the Mediators, to ensure the adherence of the termination of military operations in Lebanon as per the MoU. Technical talks will continue for the remainder of the week at the Burgenstock resort on all issues.

The mediating parties will continue to do their utmost to ensure that the negotiations continue to be conducted in a constructive atmosphere with the aim of reaching a final deal. 

The State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan express their sincere appreciation to the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their ongoing commitment to diplomacy and a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The mediating parties further commend brotherly and friendly countries for their continued support and valuable contribution to the ongoing negotiations. 

Qatar Announces Launch of Lake Lucerne Summit, First High-Level Committee Meeting with Participation of US, Iran, Pakistan

The State of Qatar announces, in its capacity as a mediator, the launch of the Lake Lucerne Summit and the first meeting of a high-level committee bringing together representatives of the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the two mediating states, the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, hoping that the meetings would lead to a comprehensive and lasting agreement addressing all issues covered by the memorandum of understanding.

Adviser to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, notes that specialized technical and expert working groups had been established to negotiate the provisions of a final agreement covering all aspects of the memorandum of understanding. He adds that follow-up groups had also been formed to oversee implementation of the memorandum and monitor progress toward the conclusion of a final agreement, reflecting the commitment of all parties to move forward with the negotiating process in good faith and to reach a comprehensive and sustainable agreement.

Dr. Al Ansari says Qatar, as one of the mediating states, would continue working with Pakistan and all relevant parties to foster a positive environment that would enable the negotiations to achieve their objectives. He adds that the effort stemmed from Qatar’s firm belief that dialogue and diplomacy remain the most effective means of resolving conflicts and settling disputes.

Adviser to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expresses Qatar’s appreciation for the important role played by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan as a partner and mediator in the process, praising its close cooperation and efforts in support of the negotiations. He further expresses Qatar’s appreciation for the commitment of the United States and Iran to diplomatic solutions, as well as for the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Turkiye, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, along with other friendly and sisterly countries, which helped create favorable conditions for advancing the process.

They discussed bilateral relations and ways to support and strengthen cooperation, as well as the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting security and stability in the region, following a memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed Doha’s support for launching negotiations between the US and Iran to reach sustainable solutions to outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means.

Qatar, UK and France Ministers Visit Beirut Shelters as Humanitarian Needs Mount

A joint ministerial delegation from Qatar, the United Kingdom and France visited a number of collective shelters in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Thursday to assess humanitarian conditions and the needs of displaced communities.

The delegation included HE Minister of State for International Cooperation of the State of Qatar Dr. Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad; HE Baroness Chapman of Darlington, Minister of State (International Development and Africa) of the United Kingdom; and HE Eleonore Caroit, Minister Delegate for Francophonie, International Partnerships and French Nationals Abroad, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic.

During the visit, the ministers received detailed briefings on urgent humanitarian and medical requirements facing people housed in the shelters.

Speaking during the visit, HE Dr. Al Misnad reaffirmed the State of Qatar’s commitment to supporting the Lebanese people and addressing their most pressing needs.

She said the State of Qatar remained fully committed to providing urgent assistance in a manner that preserves the dignity of displaced people and helps alleviate humanitarian suffering.

The visit forms part of broader international efforts to assess conditions on the ground and coordinate support for those affected by displacement and ongoing humanitarian challenges in Lebanon.

A joint ministerial delegation comprising HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, HE Baroness Chapman of Darlington, Minister of State (International Development and Africa) of the United Kingdom, and HE Eleonore Caroit, Minister Delegate for Francophonie, International Partnerships and French Nationals Abroad, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, met on Thursday in Beirut with HE Minister of Social Affairs of the Lebanese Republic Haneen Sayed.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in Lebanon along with mechanisms to strengthen partnership and coordination to ensure the sustained flow of humanitarian aid.

Discussions also focused on delivering targeted support to the populations most affected by the conflict, alongside several issues of mutual concern.
