Qatar Welcomes the Signing of the U.S. President’s Executive Order Recognizing Attacks on Its Territory as a Threat to American Peace and Security

Qatar welcomes the executive order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump, which affirms that any armed attack on Qatari territory, sovereignty, or critical infrastructure would be considered a threat to peace and security in the United States.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs describes the order as a reflection of the strong and longstanding ties between Doha and Washington, built on cooperation and partnership in mediation, conflict resolution, and global peace and security. The Ministry adds that the move represents an important step in strengthening the two countries’ close defense partnership .

The Ministry expresses the State of Qatar’s full appreciation for the important US role in consolidating regional peace and reiterates that this step will contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the security and diplomatic fields.

The Ministry affirms that Qatar remains committed to working with the United States and international partners as a trusted mediator to address shared challenges, advance conflict resolution through diplomatic means, and support sustainable peace in the region.

HH the Amir Sends Written Message to President of Lebanon

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani sent a written message to HE President of the Republic of Lebanon General Joseph Aoun pertaining to bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them.

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Lebanon Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani delivered the message during a meeting on Tuesday with HE the Lebanese President.

Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets Special Representative of President of Republic of Kazakhstan for Afghanistan

HE Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Faisal bin Abdullah Al Hanzab met with HE Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Afghanistan Yerkin Tokumov, during his visit to the country.
The meeting discussed a number of topics of common interest, particularly the political, security, and humanitarian situations in Afghanistan.

Qatar Affirms Israeli Occupation Seeks to Undermine Chance of Peace in the Region

The State of Qatar affirmed that the Israeli occupation is seeking to undermine peace prospects and de-escalation efforts in the region by implementing settlement, colonial, and aggressive plans and policies that pose a threat to peace and security.
This came in a statement by the State of Qatar, delivered by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar in Geneva Dr. Hind Abdulrahman Al Muftah during her participation in the general debate on the situation of human rights in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories, Item 7, within the framework of the 60th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
Her Excellency affirmed the State of Qatar’s welcome of the recent announcement by a number of countries of their official recognition of the sisterly State of Palestine, noting that these recognitions constitute a victory for the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people and are consistent with international legitimacy, relevant Security Council resolutions, and the New York Declaration on the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Her Excellency stressed the need for recognition of the Palestinian state not to remain ink on paper, calling on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and take effective measures to pressure Israel, the occupying power, to stop the war and crimes of genocide in the Gaza Strip, the forced displacement and starvation of its population, and to allow the entry of sufficient humanitarian aid, as well as to end its occupation of all Palestinian and Arab territories, and to hold accountable all those responsible for the crimes and grave violations committed against the Palestinian people.

HE President of the United States of America, Donald Trump held a phone call HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, and Prime Minister of Israel, as part of US efforts to address the repercussions of the Israeli aggression that targeted a residential neighborhood in Doha, which housed the headquarters of the Hamas negotiating delegation, and the resulting flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar.

At the beginning of the call, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked HE the U.S. President for his efforts to achieve peace in the region, including guarantees that aggression against the State of Qatar would not be repeated and the United States commitment to its defense partnership with Qatar.

During the call, the Israeli Prime Minister apologized for the attack on Doha and on Qatar’s soviergnty, which resulted in the martyrdom of Qatari citizen Badr Al-Dosari, pledging to not repeat any targeting of Qatari territory in the future.

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed the State of Qatar’s absolute and unequivocal rejection of any infringement on its sovereignty under any circumstances, emphasizing that protecting its citizens and residents is a top priority. HE further expressed appreciation for the assurances conveyed to safeguard the State of Qatar from being a target, and for the commitments undertaken to ensure that such violations will not be repeated.

This underscores the State of Qatar’s readiness to continue engaging in efforts to bring an end to the war in the Gaza Strip, within the framework of the U.S. President’s initiative, which reflects the consistent approach of Qatar in addressing crises through diplomatic means, and in line with its role in promoting regional security and stability.

Qatar’s Ambassador to UK Affirms Qatari Mediation Bolsters Opportunities for Peace, Stability

Qatar’s mediation, along with its diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, forms integrated pathways that contribute to bolstering opportunities for peace and stability, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom, Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani, affirmed.

His Excellency was speaking during a discussion dinner that revolved around Qatar’s role in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as on development and the situation in Gaza.

The event was organized by the Labour Foreign Policy Group (LFPG), on the margins of the UK Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, in collaboration with the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the UK.

Achieving enduring peace in the region requires meeting the fundamental humanitarian needs, His Excellency underlined, warning of the aggravation of the situation in Gaza due to the imposed restrictions on the flow of humanitarian aid.

He stressed that depriving civilians of humanitarian aid constitutes an egregious breach of international humanitarian law, emphasizing the importance of sustained support for the UN, particularly the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

Qatar, Romania Hold Round of Political Consultations

The third round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and Romania was held in Doha on Monday.
The Qatari side was headed by HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, while the Romanian side was headed by HE State Secretary for European, Middle Eastern and African Affairs in Romania, Clara Staicu.
Throughout this round, both sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Qatar Participates in High-level Meeting of UN General Assembly to Commemorate and Promote International Day for Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons

Qatar Announces Facilitation of Release of U.S. Citizen Detained in Afghanistan

The State of Qatar has announced that it facilitated the release of American citizen Amir  Amiri, who had been detained in Afghanistan, confirming that he is currently on his way to Doha and is expected to travel onward to the United States at a later time.

In a statement to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed Qatar’s appreciation for the constructive cooperation extended by both the Afghan caretaker government and the United States. He emphasized that Qatar remains committed to advancing mediation efforts aimed at achieving peaceful solutions to conflicts and complex international issues—an approach rooted in the State’s foreign policy, which prioritizes dialogue as a strategic choice for promoting regional and global peace and stability.

His Excellency further noted that this development serves as a significant step toward encouraging direct dialogue and enhancing communication channels between parties, ultimately contributing to mutual understanding and fostering a more positive atmosphere for addressing outstanding issues.
